It’s Not Who You Know, It’s Who You Are by Pat Williams with Jim Denny

Pat Williams writes about short and, what he considers meaningful, encounters he has had with a variety of celebrities, many of them sports figures. He has categorized these narratives into sections such as leadership, success, family and friends, impact and influence, and becoming a person of excellence.   The book reads like a grandfather telling his grandchildren about his fond memories and the people he has encountered through life. I believe his intention was to teach life lessons.   And although some of the stories were amusing, I found most lacking a “take away”.   In my opinion, they didn’t draw a conclusion that causes the reader to feel encouraged or inspired. The stories did however, show the inside thoughts and motivations of many well-known people, displaying snippets of their character.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Revell in exchange for an honest review.
